Hersonissos is the largest resort area in Crete. Old Hersonissos is the old harbor when this was only a port village where local farm goods were exported. Today it’s a thriving modern town with shopping, dining and nightlife that attracts thousands of tourists every year.
Families enjoy the beaches and the local aquarium. Play areas for children are provided all over the town. Upscale travelers come here to stay in the luxury hotels or to play the only golf course in Crete.
