Cala Bona, just north of Cala Millor on the Eastern coast of Majorca is a developing resort town most described as being much more low-key than the west side of the island. This is great news for people who are looking for a quiet holiday filled with relaxation rather than an action-packed adventure.
The Outdoors
White sand, blue sky, rugged hills and pristine water stretched out before you. Need I say more? The views are breath-taking and perfect for someone looking to escape the dreary winter of the northern countries. See the countryside of the island on a guided mountain-bike tour, enjoy a cruise on a glass-bottomed boat or explore the countryside on horseback. Or, spend your days on the beach simply relaxing.
The Hotels
Most of the hotels at Cala Bona are directly on the beach, with most rooms offering a view of the sea. Resort amenities cater to the crowd looking for a simple beach retreat including outdoor lagoon swimming pools, Jacuzzis, saunas and full service spas. One hotel is adjacent to a golf course while another juts out over the water on a small peninsula in the bay. Most of the lodging is inclusive with on-site restaurants.
Entertainment
Much of the entertainment for tourists is within the hotels, including cocktail hour mixers, live musical performances and restaurants. A handful of bars and restaurants dot the landscape in Cala Bona but it's not a totally active nightlife scene. Guests seeking night clubs and discos tend to travel to nearby Cala Millor.
