Estepona

The town of Estepona is situated on the Costa del Sol in Andalucia, Spain. In times gone by, the village functioned as a fishing and farming community and still features a lovely, unique charm all its own. While modern tourism thrives here, the town has also retained its traditional Spanish characteristics. Located only an hour's drive to the Malaga International Airport, it is an excellent family holiday location, as well a great location for those seeking a serene and quiet area in which to relax and unwind.

The Sierra Bermeja mountain range offers an outstanding view for visitors of Estepona, and many artists come from different parts of Europe to sketch this panorama of beauty. Gardens, parks, monuments and museums are offered, as well as traditional modern tourism establishments such as apartment blocks, hotels, clubs and restaurants, and a busy marina.

The old quarter features quaint, cobbled streets where there is a variety of outdoor cafes for one to enjoy. The Plaza de las Flores, located in the centre of town, is an excellent place to explore, as are the myriad of back street shops and boutiques.

Calle Terraza and Calle Real are home to most of the contemporary shops, and fresh produce stands are plentiful here, as well. Tourists enjoy the beaches of Estepona as they are clean, and properly maintained. The beaches in the area stretch for a generous total of 23 kilometres, and many visitors flock to the Playa El Cristo's sheltered cove for a unique beach experience. The main beach, located in the centre of Estepona is called La Rada, and features silky white sand and enjoyable amenities.

A family who chooses to holiday in Estepona will be pleased with their choice as the area offers something for everyone, young and old alike.
